Case Study: Reed Bulletin

description:

Reed Bulletin is used by sub-contractors and other commercial construction professionals to source detailed information about construction projects.

client:

Reed Construction Data (RCD) of Atlanta, Georgia employees a large team of reporters to discover an impressive amount of information about all of the commercial construction projects located in the United States. One use of that data is to generate over 130 geographically based bulletins that are delivered via the postal mail in paper format and on the reedbulletin.com website. Each week thousands of subscribers login to access the timely data, which they use to generate more business.

problem:

The paper bulletin is expensive to generate and the delivery can be delayed, beyond RCD's control, which can result in the information arriving at the customer too late to be useful.

solution:

In 1998, Clearbuilt created a website that closely mimicked the functionality of the paper bulletin. The original website was purposely void of complicated searching and filtering routines. This made the website very easy to use. Clearbuilt continues to host, maintain, and improve the website. More features are added on a regular basis.

features:

  1. integration with financial and publication systems
  2. ability to track a project and receive an email when it is updated
  3. tens of thousands of users
  4. ability to email specific projects to colleagues (even if they do not have a login)
